Most professionals are familiar with software development. And yet, game development is often shrouded in obscurity nearing mysticism.
Our talk will attempt to demystify game development by giving attendees an overview of: what a game developer does, what are the most common game development roles, what skills are important as a game developer, and how one finds a job in the game industry.
We will also cover how prospective developers can use their existing skills to start creating a portfolio and increase their chances in getting noticed when looking for their first job in the game industry.
In addition, we will share our insight to what game studios are actually looking for when they interview a new developer.
